About the company
Established since 1953, Servo & Electronic Sales Ltd assemble and distribute electronic connectors worldwide. Some of their clients include the MOD, BAE and Bowing. The components that are produced are high spec, military grade and can be found on armoured vehicles, planes and trains.
Supporting the business
The company operates in a highly competitive market and pitch to high profile clients for contracts, the managing director Robert Egan reached out to Kent Web Host to redesign their current website in order for it to be a powerful asset when trying for new contracts.
Following a consultation meeting at the Servo site in Kent we quickly realised that a clean and user focused website would enable Servo to stand out from the crowd. We also suggested that in order to support Servo’s client based a quick and efficient search module needed to allow a user to find the component they are looking for amongst the 150K plus parts that are either on-site of manufactured to order.
Kent Web Host then conducted research into the competition and market place in general, although we were able to draw upon our experience supporting other clients we have worked with in the engineering/component sector. We then crafted a series of draft designs, user journeys and concept drawings that were then discussed at a second meeting.
Bespoke part search
One of the core objectives outlined at the start of the project was the integration of a part search engine, this enables customers to search through around 150K parts to build up a quote enquiry which is then emailed directly to the Servo sales team. A number of other enquiry forms were also created to allow customers to communicate with the team at Servo thus streamlining customer-to-business communications.
